# To subscribers of the xforms list from Angus Leeming <angus.leeming@btopenworld.com> :
Dear Steve,
now that
* I can communicate again and
* I hope I have proved my good intentions by posting a number of patches,
I would like to ask a question:
are there any plans to resurrect xforms' development? Things seem to be really
quiet at the moment. (A grand total of 42 mails in 2003 in just 10 threads,
none of them concerned with developing xforms further.)
Last year I posted a mail
(http://bob.usuhs.mil/mailserv/list-archives/xforms-archive/0536.html)
in which I asked similar questions. In reply, you mentioned that you would try
and roll out a cvs tree over the Christmas vacation. Did anything come of
this?
We have been talking things over a little on the lyx-devel mailing list,
baffled as we were by the lack of traffic and dissappearing emails. This
latter appears to be at least partly my fault, but Jean-Marc Lasgouttes and
CG Han appear to have experienced something similar also so I'm not convinced
that xforms is entirely innocent ;-)
That aside, LyX has an active interest in maintaining xforms, even now that a
Qt frontend has also come on-stream. Perhaps we could make your life a little
simpler by offering to host an xforms cvs tree? Please be assured that I am
not talking about a hostile fork. I am interested only in getting things
moving.
Let me know your thoughts.
Kind regards,
Angus
