I used the utility dmalloc to track down the following:
994972402: 889: not freed: '0x807d008|s1' (32 bytes) from 'ra=0x400878ef'
and gdb to provide some more insight into exactly where the leak is
originating:

Can I offer some kind of incentive to get this fixed? It seems like a
pretty simple one.
